Erasmus Prize 2007 awarded to Péter Forgács

The Board of the Praemium Erasmianum Foundation has decided to award the Erasmus Prize 2007 to the Hungarian filmmaker and media artist Péter Forgács.

The Erasmus Prize is awarded annually to a person who has made an exceptionally important contribution to European culture, society or social science. The amount of the Prize is € 150.000. The presentation of the Prize will take place in the autumn of 2007. tovább

Film financing survives

STILL NO DUTIESFilm sponsorship will remain exempt from duties. The amount spent on making films in Hungary is expected to rise from 22.3 billion forints last year to over 25 billion forints this year.

Etyekwood may be built by spring

SHOOTING MAY START IN MAYThe walls of the Sándor Korda Film Studios are standing; the project can be completed by Spring 2007, managing director László Krisán told MTI.

According to him, they have finished earthworks, developed the area's infrastructure and the by-pass around the village has been completed. The studio is expected to be built by Spring 2007 on a 15—16 acre former army base, with panoramic views, situated between vineyards and the village. tovább

"Last week the final versions of the character sketches and backgrounds were finished.” The characters are based on the members of the crew. The fans have long been demanding the second part of BélaTrenovszky-József Nepp’s cultic cartoon film Cat City 2.
