Budapest Arena
The Arena was built between 2001 and 2003 on the site of Sportcsarnok, which was burnt down. Locals call it „the pebble”, alluding to its shape. Although it does look like a gigantic pebble, the building in fact has a horseshoe-shaped floor plan and with its round metal cover, it is one of the best examples of high-tech architecture in Budapest. It fits 12,500 people.
