The new campus of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of ELTE university was built in District 9 between the Lágymányosi and Petőfi bridges and was opened in 2001. The modern, geometric brick buildings are characterized by large glass surfaces and minimalist design. Exciting interior elements include the the large glass-domed foyer, glass passageways and interior courtyards. It is surrounded by a park.
