The Savoyai castle, Ráckeve

The castle was built by the Austrian architect Hildebrandt for Prince Eugene of Savoy in the early 18th century. It follows the U-shaped floor plan of Baroque castles: the domed ceremonial hall in the middle is joined by a series of representative rooms on both sides, which continue in the northern and southern wings. The courtyard was later closed off from the street by two sets of buildings. The domed mid-section of the main facade is rich in ornaments and features the coats of arms of the Savoys and ten life-sized mythological figures.
