Fishermen’s Bastion
It was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th century behind Mátyás Church in the side of Castle Hill, on the site of a former fortress. The Neogothic structure was designed by Frigyes Schulek, its seven towers symbolize the seven Hungarian chieftains who occupied the territory of Hungary.
The northern and the southern sections of the bastion are connected by stairs. It offers a magificent view of the Danube and downtown.
