Hősök tere (Heroes’ square)
The grand square of Budapest is located next to Városliget (City Park) at the end of Andrássy avenue. The millennium monument commemorates the founding of the Hungarian state: statues of kings stand in a semicircle and the genius of victory stands on top of the 36-meter column. In the left part of the square the Museum of Fine Arts was built in Eclectic style; facing it is the Műcsarnok, built in 1895, which exhibits contemporary art.
