Deák square

This is where the historic city center of Budapest – once sourrounded by a wall – and the avenue leading towards the suburbs meet. This is the junction of the three metro lines and the terminus of several important bus and tram lines. The oldest Evangelical church in Budapest built in 1881 also stands here, along with some five-star hotels. A newly built park and the bus station, which enjoys a historic monument status, lie next to the square. However, towards Károly boulevard, a row of single-storey buildings awaiting renovation ruins the overall atmosphere.
