Institute for the Disabled

The one-storey villa standing next to Városliget (City Park) used to serve as the Institute for the Disabled. The interior of the richly decorated building shows traces of its former splendour even in its current run-down state: the carved wooden railings of the spiral staircase and the wooden panels, the marble columns and the stucco ornaments. The walls of its ceremonial hall are covered with ceramic tiles and beautiful Arabic calligraphic ornaments borrowed from Islamic architecture. It has a carved wooden ceiling.
