Esztergom, Mária Valéria bridge
The original 496m long iron bridge connecting the cities of Esztergom and Párkány was opened in 1895 and named after the daughter of Emperor Franz Joseph. It was blown up by the retreating German troops in1944, and was rebuilt only in 2001. The Customs House that stands before the bridge functions as an exhibition hall presenting the history and the construction of the bridge.
