The Tunnel
The Tunnel underneath Castle Hill in Buda was built in 1857 upon the completion of the Chain Bridge by Adam Clark. The Chain Bridge entrance of the 350-meter-long tunnel was built in Classicist style to match the bridge. Its facade hides offices and the apartment of the bridge guard. The entrance on the Krisztinaváros side was originally built in Romantic style, but it was destroyed in WW2.
