The complex was built in the early 20th century next to the Danube in District 11 in Buda. The facade of the several-storey Classicist main building is divided by a column order and arcades. Inside, there is a spacious stairwell and a two-level exhibition hall with loggias. Certain parts of the complex were built in Neogothic style, including the reading room of the central library. The buildings are surrounded by a well-groomed park.
