First Hungarian web series
MAB, the first series created directly and only for Internet in Hungary is ready to be launched (trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogInq8enG8I&feature=related). The project has been initiated by Ádám Horgas, director at alternative theater groups. The series will be comprised of 16 episodes, 8 minutes long each and will be broadcasted on Youtube.
MAB is a thriller based on a Celtic legend, where every person of an apartment building dies within a night. The story presents in parallel the events of the terrific night and the story of the police investigation taking place the next day. The main roles are played by well-known Hungarian actors.
This is a no-budget production with a budget of 500 thousand HUF (cca. 1800 euros) which is designed especially for web audience. This means that the series will be uploaded based on the number of downloads achieved by the previous episode: the next episode won’t be online until the previous one hasn’t reached a certain figure. The director told Index.hu that as the download will be completely free of charge there is no immediate business goal behind this project, they just would like to find sponsors and investors for their next series, which hopefully they will be able to produce with a professional crew and equipment.
