Production: Jancsó turning back to his own classic style

Miklós Jancsó has finished his 'Kapa-Pepe' sequel started in the early 90ies, lasted through six movies, and turning back to his classic style in his new film called Oda az igazság!(So Much for Justice!). The premise is about getting and keeping the power, the historic background is the period of King Matthias, 15th century, Hungary's most flourishing period. There are several sequences in the movie, the actors play more different roles.

The young Matthias is played by Jákob Ladányi, the grandson of the director, the old king is played by a classic Jancso actor called László Gálffi. There are some colleagues of Jancso playing in the film like Kornél Mundruzó or Simon Szabó directors.

 

The crew is the good old stuff of Jancso, his son Nyika Jancsó is the director of photography, the production designer is Tamás Banovich, the editor is Zsuzsa Csákány. Other roles are played by György Cserhalmi, the Polish Olbrychski Daniel, Gábor Nagypál, Zoltán Mucsi. Co-producers are József Berger (Mythberg Films, Hungary)http://www.mythbergfilms.hu/, Dieter Pochlatko (EPO Film, Austria) http://www.epofilm.com/, Marianna Rowinska (Ozumi Films, Poland) http://www.ozumifilms.com/. The production is in the post-filming state, the shooting lasted four weeks long, in filming locations Rappottenstein (Austria), Visegrád and Tahitótfalu (Hungary). The budget is EUR 2 million, the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary supported the film HUF 137 million (about EUR 507 000). Delivery date is 2010.
