The bridge with its K-shaped railing leading to Óbuda Island was completed in 1955. The nearly 100-meter-long bridge spans the Danube at the shipyard in at an oblique angle. It was built in order to provide railroad access to the one-time shipyard on the island. It is only open to one-way traffic.
