Festival: four Hungarian films in Chicago

Péter Gárdos' new film, the Prank (Tréfa) http://www.trefa-mozifilm.hu/ is going for the Golden Hugo to Chicago. The Prank was awarded in the 40th Hungarian Film Festival (Filmszemle) as the best directed film, the story is about cruel life in a religious school. The oldest American film festival will celebrate its 45th birthday in 8-12 of October.

There will be 14 features in the competition. There will be another Hungarian contester: the Lost Times (Utolsó idők) of Áron Mátyássy, the winner of the Golden Reel for the best film in the 40th Filmszemle is intending to win the prize for the best debut film. Mátyássy is going to travel to Chicago with his wife Teréz Vass, actually she plays the main role in the movie.

Among the shorts Bálint Kenyeres' The History of Aviation (A repülés története) is competing, and in the World Cinema section Gergely Fonyó's Made in Hungaria http://www.madeinhungaria.hu/ is going to be introduced – a tricky, smart rock and roll musical about a famous Hungarian band – and the director himself will accompany his movie to Chicago.
