Films in the Making in 2007, Vol. 3.

The mysterious Milky Way is coming, shooting for Béla Paczolay's first feature film, Kalandorok, starts this year, work continues on Egill.

04 June, 2007 - filmhu
Szabolcs Hajdu is working on two projects. Films in the making in 2007. Part Three. We won't be left without films.

Fliegauf Benedek: Milky Way

Just like the director's previous films, Milky Way was produced at Inforg Studio, headed by András Muhi. ”There's a little bit of a German participation on the part of Intuitiv Films, but due to the quick preparations and shooting I have György Durst and the Mónika Mécs – Ernő Mesterházi duo as co-producers. Even a low budget film like this requires cooperation”–András Muhi told filmhu. He also informed us that although european-films.net expected Benedek Fliegauf's ambient movie to debut at Cannes, the international premiere seems more certain at the Locarno Film Festival.

Paczolay Béla: Béla Paczolay: Kalandorok

Béla Paczolay's first feature film, Kalandorok,  is co-produced by Filmpartners and Unio Film. Shooting for the ca. 200-million-forint work starts this spring, according Gábor Kovács, head of Filmpartners. The production, with shooting originally set for last summer, had to be delayed because cameraman Gyula Pados was working on Lajos Koltai's Evening in the United States.

Szabolcs Hajdu: Smooth Operator

Szabolcs Hajdu's Smooth Operator, produced by Filmpartners and Katapult as a joint English–German–Hungarian venture, features the European travels of a Hungarian from Transylvania. Shooting for the 3-million-euro production starts this August.

Szabolcs Hajdu: Adel versus Friday

Work on Adel versus Friday, initially conceived as a TV film, has finished. The Hajdu opus, originally recorded on 16 mm film, a co-production of LagunaFilm and Unio Film, is only waiting for blowing up. The director believes the 70-million-forint production could hit the cinemas in autumn.

Pálfi György: A paradicsom

György Pálfi shot this film among kindergarteners without a script, but with a firm concept in mind, aided by cameramen Dávid Lukács and Gergely Pohárnok. The material, over a hundred hours long, is awaiting post-production, most likely to take place this autumn. Produced by Eurofilm for a fourth of the budget of an average Hungarian feature film, this piece is aimed at a small group of cinemagoers.

Gauder Áron: Egill

It is expected to be ready by the end of 2008, but work is already under way on Egill. The latest animation by the makers of The District is produced by Lichthof, SzimplaFilm, Storyteller Pictures, and Scandinavian partners, and directed by Áron Gauder. The animated version of the story of the Icelandic poet and warrior is expected to reach cinemas in early 2009.
