Introducing Fade In Pitch Forum
The organizers, Gábor Krigler and Balázs Lovas, said that the aim of the project concentrating on the Central European region, is for scripts and producers to find each other.

The aim of Fade In Script Consulting, established in the summer of 2006, is to introduce professional script writing in Hungary. The Pitch Forum, arranged in the course of the 2007 Film Feast, is in fact a discussion forum for film pitches, where scriptwriters have the opprotunity to present their ideas to an international body of producers.

The founders, Balázs Lovas and Gábor Krigler, believe that in Central and Eastern Europe there is a huge amount of unexploited capacity in the field of script writing, and that these unknown scriptwriters might get into the circulation of the international film trade. In the Pitch Forum at Pécs those whose scripts do not have producer are granted the opportunity. Following the fortunate joining of producers and scripts, the projects might have the opportunity to find their way to the co-productional forums of the big international film festivals. The chances are increased by the development and promotion of good parnership with big co-porductional markets. In the spirit of this, following the presentation of Fade In, the CineLink co-porductional forum from Sarajevo introduced itself.

In the first place, they expect scripts without producers by scriptwriters from the countries assigned/appointed (the newly joined EU member-states, and Romania, Bulgaria and the Balkans). Twelve of these will be selected by an international jury. It is possible to apply with at least the first draft of the script in English.

Application due by 15 May, 2007.

Conditions for application: CV, script, a not more than ten pages long treatment, that has to be sent via e-mail and a printed version should also be sent to the address of Fade In (www.fadein.eu; mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Application and participation are free, the organizers cover all the costs of the writers of the projects selected.

Central European Pitch Forum (CEPF) is a three days long series of events organized in the course of Pécs’s Film Feast. During the first day participants might attend lectures given by the teachers of Hartley-Merrill workshop, and internationally acknowledged pitch instructors. On the second day, participants can practice the process of pitching personally with the same instructors. In the forum, the representatives of some of the biggest European co-porductional markets will be present (Rotterdam, Sarajevo, Cottbus, Beograd, and possibly Cannes).

During the actual pitch all the twelve participants will be given approximately 25 minutes. Five minutes will be for the pitch itself, then ten minutes will be granted for questions arising in connection with the project from the producers, and the same amount of feedback is given for the discussion of the pitch’s quality.
