János Szász working on two projects
Hungarian director János Szász, beside of preparing his new film Le grand cahier, based on an Agota Kristof novel, has been found by another, English speaking  project – [origo] published recently. The script of the film with the working title Goodbye Komárom has been written by the American Amir Kovács, who has Hungarian origins. The film will tell the story of his parents, who have been chased from the Hungarian city of Komárom during and again after the second world war.

Producer Ádám Neményi, who contacted Szász for the direction told [origo] that according to their plans the film will be made essentially with American financing but will be shot in Hungary, probably in the city of Győr.

As the project is still in casting, Szász didn’t want to divulge names, but he said that there will be Hungarian and foreign actors too, and that he plans to ask for two or three main roles some famous English actors.

The shooting of his other film, Le grand cahier will start next year with Ulrich Tomsen and Orsi Tóth already confirmed from the cast.
