The premiere of the film that tells the events of 24 hours and takes place in different countries will, in all probability, be in the Hungarian Film Festival.

The shooting of Ferenc Török’s Overnight is over. The film carried out in the co-production  of Filmpartners managed by Ági Pataki and Gábor Kovács, and Katapult Films of Iván Angelusz, is about the generation that grew up around the hungarian change of regime, in the late 1980s, the last years of communism and early 1990s, the first years of hungarian democracy. The film, that is set in the world of brokers, is about a special future transaction, the expiration of which is the day following the transaction. The title refers to the fact that the film follows up the events of a 24 hour period in three countries. The protagonist has exactly the same amount of time to regain the millions he wasted, the money of his clients. In this he is aided by an old friend, and time difference.

The hungarian scenes of the movie showing the world of yuppies were appropriately shot in an abandoned office building, then the crew were shooting for two days in an airport in Germany, and finally, between 16 and 23 September they travelled to India. As Iván Angelusz, one of the film’s producers, said originally the shooting would have been taken place in Singapur, but the local co-producer cancelled the agreement, they had to find a cheaper location. India surpassed all expectations of the crew, the Hungarian crew members were completely dazzled by the astonishing environment.

It is enough to set up the camera on the street, and 2-3
thousands of spectators   appear ont he locale right away.

A thirteen member crew came for the shooting from Hungary, the director, the cinematographer, and some of the production unit had arrived   two weeks before. This was the amount of time they had for location scouting and casting. Iván Angleusz highlighted the producer of the newly established Bang Bang Film, Roopak Singh Saluja, the child of India’s former ambassador in Hungary, who was not only the Indian co-porducer of the movie but also took part in it as an actor, and also mentioned Tara Sarma who is considered to be one of the greatest stars of Bollywood. Among the Indian cast there is the „American” Binita Barai.

From the 40 days of shooting six days were spent in India, and according to the producer the colorful and spectacular oriental scences are going to be seen in the film in the same proportion. At present, the crew of Overnight is making the editing. They are working with 30-32 hours of material in the editing studio. The director of Moscow Square and Season feels that Overnight is his first really thrilling movie. He especially enjoys that the tension dominating the 24 hour long plot has to be created in the process of editing. In creating tension, rythm and music have central role. The soundtrack is composed by the German Moritz Denis, who after participating in a few feature films and with his punk band behind his back feels his task to be a real challenege.

If everything will be alright, taking into consideration the sound edition in Germany, the premiere of the movie might be in next years Hungarian Film Festival, and might be shown in cinemas in the spring or in the autumn. Budapest Film and the two studios, Katapult Film and Filmpartners, are negotiating about the distribution. The project did not exceed the budget. Iván Angelusz said that if the production could have exclucively used Hungarian sources, 300 million forints would have been sufficient, however, since the Hungarian partners could only gather 250 million forints, the help of the German co-porducer was needed. This, of course, brought about additional costs, however, it secures the distribution of the film in Germany, where it will start with 30 prints, while in Hungary, in all probability, 20.
