Second film of Bence Miklauzic in post-production
The film presents two very different people: a 45 years old Hungarian real-estate agent and a Chinese immigrant who have to face and know each other due to several conflicts in their life. Even the initial plans contained a two weeks long shooting in China, as the budget had dropped considerably, finally the shooting took place entirely in Budapest in the area where most Chinese immigrants live and work.
The film started as a Hungarian-Polish co-production (in the meantime the Polish partner has stepped back), is produced by
Mythberg Films (producer József Berger) and its budget is 160 million HUF (cca. 560.000 Euros) of which 90 million HUF (315.000 Euros) have been accorded by the Hungarian Motion Picture Association (
MMKA). The financial support of the Hungarian television channel TV2 plays also an important role in the budget
The project was also presented this summer at the
Works in Progress program of the
Karlovy Vary International Film Festival to worldwide distributors and buyers. The film has already been invited to the
Warsaw International Film Festival to be held in October this year and there is serious world sales interest in the project.
