Krisztina Goda’s third feature film is being shot at Korda Studios. The staff spends half of the shooting time (forty eight days), almost twenty days, in Etyek.

"I couldn’t have imagined they would let us in. It is a great honour to work under world class circumstances"  - said director Kriszta Goda at the press conference in Etyek.

The gates of Korda Studios are open to Hungarian filmmakers, too: high-quality services are available for the Hungarian productions at a reasonable price. President András Simonyi said that the comlpex was built for Hungarian productions, too, and they would like to communicate this fact to the whole world, as the main essence of Hungarian creativity is the Hungarian film.

This is also in Etyek: New York City streets in the 90s

The 91 million Euros budgeted facility will cover 35 hectares altogether and at present with the opening of Studio 5 counts 9000 square meters. The construction of Studio Six, the biggest of all studios in Etyek is delayed until the new film laws (making tax rebate depend on the cultural content of the films) are issued by the Parliament.

As soon as Hungarian film subsidy system offering 20% reimbursement off the budget is ratified on Monday, the constructions can get started and the biggest studio ever will be completed by fall. ” To illustrate the size of the studio, just imagine a ten-storey block and then the staff working on the eighth floor.” said László Krisán manager.

The studio purchased New York City street sets from Universal, which means that besides indoor scenes, outdoor ones may also be shot: films showing facades reflecting Bronx in the 90s can be made here from now on.

It was announced last November that the studio co-operates with the Colorfront post-production studio founded by Jászberényi brothers through wideband internet connection. The sound post-production division, which was opened earlier, hired Attila Tőzser sound technician, who is also the sound technician of the Chameleon rolling at the moment. The soul of the studio is the Pro Tools system made by Digidesign. In order to be compatible with all studios all over the world, Korda Studios will be capable of making post productions and also partial tasks for foreign productions.

Sound studio in Etyek

Producer of Chameleon Gábor Kálomista did not reveal the rental costs of the studio, whereas László Krisán only disclosed: ”it is not the amount of money that matters but the quality of services we can offer for this sum and how effective we can spend this money.”

Gábor Kálomista said to filmhu: in case of exterior locations, shooting may become very expensive, as they often have to stop filming because of the circumstances (neighbours, streets, sound of airplanes) and as a result they must work overtime and include extra shooting days. In Etyek, however, they can work without stopping. Chameleon is the first Hungarian feature film, which is made with the contribution of Korda Studios. Kriszta Goda’s previous feature Children of Glory was produced by Andrew G. Vajna, who is one of the investors of Korda Studios. "This complex is not of typical American or European standard, as it can host major American productions, European films and Kriszta Goda’s new film as well."
