István Szabó is shooting The Door
Famous director István Szabó is in the middle of the shooting of his next film based on the success novel of Hungarian writer Magda Szabó. As we have written previously, the leading role of The Door is played by Academy Award winner Helen Mirren.
The first phase of the shooting took place in Hungary and lasted three weeks. For the next step the crew will move to Germany where the scenes taking place in apartment interiors will be shot. Then the shooting will go back to Hungary for its final phase in November.
The film is produced by FilmArt Ltd., co-produced by Intuit Pictures and worldwide sales is handled by Bankside Films . According to producer Jenő Hábermann the budget of the film is 6 million Euros.
