Hungarian State Opera House

The building characterized by Renaissance and Baroque elements was built in the second half of the 19th century by Miklós Ybl, modeled after the Paris Opera. Its facade is opened by loggias framed by columns, two marble sphinxes lie on its corners, statues of composers decorate the upper terrace. The lavish interiors feature marble covers and wood inlays, historical murals decorate the walls. A grand stairwell leads up to its horseshoe-shaped, three-storey auditorium. Its style is Eclectic / Neorenaissance.
