The 97-hectare island located in the middle of the Danube has been a public park since the middle of the 19th century. The park has leafy walkways, ancient trees, colorful flowerbeds, a Japanese garden, a lake and a waterfall. Traffic has been banned from its premises. In addition to the delights of nature, the island is also the home of baths, sports facilities, a thermal spring, a zoo and a number of historic monuments.
