Synopsis
NELU a forty years old man and his wife FLORICA live in Salonta on a isolated farm on the Romanian-Hungarian border.
Days go by the same. NELU goes fishing and works as a kind of lousy bodyguard at the town hall. FLORICA works at the slaughterhouse. In the evenings they plan the annual seaside holiday.
One day NELU will fish something different from the river on the border: a kurd refugee trying to cross the border underwater.
NELU will hide BEHRAN- the refugee- at the farm promising he will help him cross the border tomorrow - ”morgen”.
At a second thought NELU will not help BEHRAN escape but will put him work at the farm. With BEHRAN’s help NELU will start to renovate the farm. Will NELU help BEHRAN cross the border after the farm is renovated?
This down to earth story is about seeking freedom, about friendship and the human condition. It discusses the issue of immigration on a different level.
