No Money for the HFW

Due to the blocked finances of the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary in 2010 and based on the figures which can be seen in the Hungarian state budget plans for 2011 the organization announced that „it doesn’t have the financial possibilities to organize the Hungarian Film Week” (http://www.hungarianfilmweek.com/frontpage/News/). However with regard to the fact that next spring Hungary will have the presidency of the European Union and considering the importance of presenting to the public the productions made with public funding MMK asks the Ministry of National Resources to insure the necessary finances to organize the event.   tovább

Open letter to the prime minister - battle for the Hungarian film funding

The battle around the planned but still unclear restructuration of the Hungarian film funding continues. The public funding for Hungarian film productions should continue to go to the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary – this is the goal of the Association of Hungarian Film Artists with their open letter to prime minister Viktor Orbán, published on 16th of November.
